It is no surprise the greatest cost to Animal Shelters is getting the appropriate Veterinarian care for the animals. The majority of the cost comes from Spaying and Neutering.

The Hay River Animal Welfare Society (HRAWS) has a fund specifically to help cover the cost of Spaying and Neutering the animals at the Hay River Animal Shelter. Without them the cost of adoptions would be very high.

About the HRAWS

​HRAWS is a community non-profit organization dedicated to promoting animal welfare in the Town of Hay River through education and raising funds for the veterinary care of the shelter animals.
